I was lucky enough to receive one of these head torches recently and I have to say I am impressed. I recently used in on a scout camp and the full focus beam could see from one side of the campsite to the other (1 acre field). Mix that with the flood light and it does everything you would want from a torch. I used to carry two torches, a maglite for the focus beam and a petzl for hands free work, but now I only carry this.
Great headtorch – very please with it. Very easy to adjust strap and torch angle. Only uses normal batteries but they seem to last forever (had infrequent use over a year or so and haven’t changed them yet). Plenty bright enough for most tasks. Does what it says on the pack and couldn’t be any simpler. 10/10
Trialled this on my Mountain Leader Training course night navigation tasks and was very impressed. It was a clear night but absolutely dark and I found I didn’t need anything more than the 2 dimmest settings. The buttons were very easy to use even with gloves on so I was able to change between settings with ease. For expeditions I prefer headtorches charged by batteries not rechargable battery pack ones so this is perfect. I’ll be looking to use this as one of my primary headtorches in future and would recommend it.
