Since becoming a DofE DLC we have purchased a variety of tents from the endurance range. The Plateau has been most favorable among our students as they love the roomy porch feature, It is perfect for evening entertainment on a not so pleasant evening. As leaders we like the over sized stuff sacks with roll down and clip features as students don’t need to fight the tent in to the bag and break the zip squeezing it in! They seem easy to maintain and are a a good quality, relatively cheap product.

This tent is just brilliant. Three identical poles in three identical sleeves. Hexagonal pegs that resist bending. Simple to put up for young people who have never put up a tent before. We bought our first batch of these tents to replace a ‘leading brand’ for our D of E Bronze groups. First camping expedition was an eye-opener: every tent was erected perfectly within five minutes. The porch space is wonderfully large for rucksacks and teenage mess. The tents may seem a bit bulky compared to some brands but the extra sized bags allow packing without ruining the tent. All in all brilliant. We intend to replace all our Bronze D of E tents with the Plateau 200s and a few 300s for the odd groups.

The Endurance range has revolutionised how we deliver our expedition section. The Endurance Plateau is the perfect tent for Bronze, Silver and Gold Expedition Groups. We took the unusual step of only purchasing 3-man tents. This allows all parts to be interchangeable and provides maximum flexibility for expedition groups – older pupils can have two people in there and the smaller broze participants can fit four in the tent. Pupils love the large porch area for storing all their rucksacks. The additional space is also excellent for groups who arrive in camp early and the weather is inclement. Easy to put up, clean and store; what is there not to like?

We have purchased these tents for our Silver D of E girls. They love the roomy easy to put up tents. Bags nice and big if the need to pack tents in a hurry. No zips to break when trying to close bags either.

I am a DofE manager and we made large purchases of these tents for our Silver and Gold practice expeditions. I was delighted with them and thought they were value for money and enjoyed watching the students enjoying the spacious porches. The extra space in the porch saved many argues amongst the group whilst packing and enabled the group to look after their kit better. However come a month or 2 later when we get them back out for the qualifier expeditions for both Silver and Gold again I was disappointed to find that the porches were leaking on their rucksacks. Believe me the tents had been well cared for whilst in storage as I am a bit OCD about our kit and storing it. Thinking of going back to the Vangos this season for the extra we require for our growing teams. Site admin: Hello Rachel, thanks for adding a review! Sorry to hear about the issue here, that’s really unusual, and definitely something we’ll get sorted under warranty. Please get in touch on 0800 310 1412 or sales@accesskit.co.uk and we’ll get that sorted for you!

Group-friendly features

Endurance tents are built with students and expedition leaders in mind. The tents focus on simplicity – simple for the students to use, and simple for you back at the kit-store.

Endurance Key Features

Printed tent poles

Ever been faced with a heap of unidentifiable poles after an expedition? All Endurance tent poles come with the tent model, tent size, and pole location etched into the end of the pole.

Hex pegs

Everyone is familiar with the problem of bent tent pegs. Endurance hex pegs have a hexagonal profile which increases the strength significantly, whilst an aluminium construction keeps the weight down.

ID windows

Endurance tents have ID windows on almost all separate component parts – flysheet, inner, tent bag, inner tent bag and pole bag. This makes your life so much simpler back at the kitstore, and can really help on expeditions where tent components are split up amongst the group.
