Endurance Summit Tent

What I have seen over the last 2 and half years is a really robust tent that has reduced our issues with personnel sleeping in tents. Our tents are used 42 weeks of the year and for 5 days at time. They get worked hard and I have had no issues reported back.

The tents are super. They way they are designed to how they are packed echo’s the consideration for group camping. Every aspect of the tent allows for simplicity without the loss of high end kit design. The single pitch design makes it easy for our Scouts to assemble and put them away, whilst the clips attaching the outer and inner allows for separation to dry the tents or split between young people to help with carry weight.
The materials are robust and strong, which is great for outdoor and group use.

We had a slight problem with one of our poles, but the Access team had replied and replaced the pole free of charge within a matter of hours. The customer service that comes with the products is second to none. I would recommend not just the kit, but the company to anyone looking for group kit, it is a no brainer moving forward.

We bought a pair of Endurance tents in 2015 for a trial, and they proved to be highly successful. In 2016, we acquired 10 Summit tents in anticipation of our Gold Expedition to the Massif Central in France (max alt 1699m). The tents exhibit excellent quality, are easy to set up, spacious, boast great features, and are exceptionally well-made. We highly recommend these tents and appreciate the excellent service provided by Access Expeditions!

Last year we purchased our third lot of the Endurance tents for the Duke of Edinburgh. We find that the tent material is hard wearing and the tents are robust which is important as they receive frequent and heavy use. they are fool proof to assemble and yet lightweight enough for our Year 9 students to carry on expeditions. Having used other brands in the past we have finally arrived on a tent that is for for purpose and good value for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Good quality fabric, well stiched, very strong poles, good size for teenagers and easy to put up. Much better than similar Vango etc would highly recommend to leaders who want a very good quality tent.

Like others we purchased both the 300 and 200 for a trial run. Early April this year in the Brecon’s we endured the hail,torrential rain and gale force winds over 5 days. All tents kept the students dry and did not “flatten” when exposed to gusts. Pole sleeve seems sturdy material with no rips so far which has occurred on some of our other tents. Very pleased with over size bags and additional bag for inner. Poles much better than the fibreglass and cheaper aluminium we have experienced before. Pegs are outstandingly strong (no more straightening sessions with a vice!) and easily seen in the grass. We will be using the summit 200 as our two person tent in future as 300 was slightly too large for a KS 4 student pair to carry. Well done with the sensible design features and forethought, it also makes the store tasks much more efficient.

The exposed nature of the terrain in Iceland means that strong winds can damage tents, therefore it is recommended to have a geodesic or semi-geodesic self-supporting tent with the additional strength of multiple poles. Hooped tent structures not performing as well in strong winds. Also the self-supporting tents have less reliance on pegs for support, and because of the volcanic ash or cinder at some campsites, the pegs don’t always hold well, and rocks are required as anchors. New Access Expedition, Endurance Summit – semi-geodesic 2 man tents were bought for the expedition. These 2 man tents weighed (3.2kg) and worked well on expedition and stood up to all the weather had to offer, would recommend.
