Geodesic, semi-geodesic or tunnel tents?

There are 3 main types of camping tent used on expeditions. Geodesic and semi-geodesic tents have multiple crossover points (where the poles meet), and are therefore much sturdier and a little heavier. They are also self-supporting, which makes them easier to move around the campsite and much simpler to dry. Tunnel tents have fewer poles and no crossover points, and rely on good guyline technique to hold the tent up. As a result, they’re generally lighter, more cost-effective and more spacious.
